Dear Bride and Groom:
Congrats on your decision to get married on this wonderful island of the Dominican Republic!!!
Here you will find smart steps to follow in order to organize your wedding in the Dominican Republic:
1.- Find out which wedding style best fits your personality. In the Dominican Republic, you will find a venue that fits your personality believe me. Beginning with our stunning beaches, to extraordinary outdoor for vintage weddings to very romantic and colonial style, so my first advice is to do your quiz at Junebug Weddings to know which wedding style best fits you.
2. Then, if you do not want to do a lot of research contract a Wedding Planner to do the hard work, beginning with your venue according to your style and what you really love!
3.- Define if your wedding is going to be Religious, Civil or Symbolic. Religious and Civil Weddings has its own protocol to follow. For example, for Religious Catholic Weddings, you will need the Priest, then you need to do the pre-marriage course, and the Sacraments like Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist, and not to mention the documents that you should present to them. There are some venues that have their own Church and Priest like Casa de Campo. For Civil Weddings, depending on the location of your Venue Dominican Republic have the Central Electoral Board (la Junta Central Electoral) so each Board has a Civilian Officer that will marry you they have a list of documents that you should present to them in order to get married. The Cost of each Ceremony vary depending de Church, but the cost of Civil Wedding in Santo Domingo is between USD$200.00 and USD$300.00 For the Symbolic Wedding is the least expensive and do not need protocol, Ceremony will be followed as the couple wants, some beach Venues offer this service once you reserve the Hotel for your marriage.
4.- Make a Wedding Page for your guest! It will be easier for them and for you depending of course in the number of guests. On this page, you could have you save the date, confirmation, pre-wedding photos, the venue, a link to make hotel reservations, local information about transportation, weather, etc.
5.- Select a Wedding Planner you trust and feel a connection. Having an expert with you will give you peace since you are not at the Dominican Republic it will be hard to control every detail, and since you don´t know the country is best to organize your wedding with a Professional. He or she will help you with the other´s details like decor, caterers, photo and video, cake, etc.
